The demand for individual and societal healthcare services will rise steadily due to societal megatrends like ageing populations, a rising number of multimorbid individuals and scientific advancements, which will lead to new treatment opportunities and generate additional demand. Meanwhile, healthcare systems throughout the world are already under immense pressure.

Accordingly, healthcare services need to be optimised and reinvented, and we need to transform systems to meet future high demands and challenges.

How we advance sustainable healthcare

Falck’s purpose is to advance sustainable healthcare to meet people’s changing needs. By being supplement to and partnering with public sectors, we aim to tackle healthcare system challenges by optimising operations, innovating services, and transform healthcare systems. Our focus is to create scalable solutions that ensure safe treatment and efficient resource use, benefiting citizens, employees, and society.

We firmly believe, we can continue delivering high quality healthcare whilst reducing CO₂ emissions. As an example, we are reducing emissions by converting to alternative energy sources, adjusting our care models to test new tools like telehealth, and new care models such as monitoring patients outside of hospitals.

Our sustainability commitment

Globally, healthcare systems are facing pressure from challenges such as increased multi-morbid patients, ageing populations, and an ever-growing consumerisation of health.

We want to advance sustainable healthcare while reducing the climate impact. Simultaneously, we strive to ensure a diverse, equal, and safe workplace built on trust.

The sustainability commitment contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals and encompasses Falck’s reporting on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters.

Commitment to the UN Global Compact

Since 2019, we have been participants of the UN Global Compact, and have committed to the Ten Principles on Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption. In addition to this report, we disclose our progress in the new database for UN Communication on Progress.

We strive to integrate our sustainability efforts in our daily business decisions and strategy. Our commitment is firmly embedded in our Employee Code of Conduct and in our Winning Behaviours.

Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

Starting in 2025, Falck must adhere to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in accordance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Our 2024 annual report is inspired by the ESRS.
